Scheme Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Government, through the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, implements the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana to uplift traditional artisans engaged in barbery, tailoring, carpentry, black‑smithing and gold‑smithing. The programme furnishes six days of government‑sponsored skill training, a certified modern toolkit valued up to ₹20,000 and facilitates credit linkages of up to ₹10 lakhs with an interest subsidy.

Target Beneficiaries

Artisans who are residents of Uttar Pradesh, aged 18 years or above, and are practising any of the specified trades are eligible. The scheme is open to all castes, genders and communities without income ceiling.

Implementation Mechanism

Training is conducted at accredited Skill Development Centres. Upon successful completion, beneficiaries receive the toolkit and are assisted in availing bank credit through the State Financial Corporation or designated commercial banks. Monitoring is carried out by the State MSME Department.

1. Register on the DIUPMSME portal (https://diupmsme.upsdc.gov.in/).
2. Select ‘Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana’ from the scheme list.
3. Fill in personal, domicile and trade details.
4. Upload scanned copies of residence proof, trade licence/experience certificate and a recent photograph.
5. Submit the application and note the reference number.
6. Attend the scheduled training at the nearest Skill Development Centre.
7. Upon completion, receive the toolkit and credit facilitation.
