Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Free Ambulance Services (102 & 108) and Dialysis Support scheme is a state‑funded program designed to ensure timely emergency medical referral and renal care for all residents of Uttar Pradesh. The initiative integrates two dedicated toll‑free numbers—108 for general emergencies and 102 for maternal and child referrals—with a network of government‑operated ambulances and district‑level dialysis centres.

Ambulance Fleet

The scheme operates a mixed fleet of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances. The 108 service responds to accidents, cardiac events, obstetric emergencies and other critical conditions, while the 102 service focuses on pregnant women, newborns and children requiring referral to higher‑level facilities. All ambulances are equipped with essential life‑saving equipment and staffed by trained emergency medical technicians.

Dialysis Support

Free hemodialysis is available at every district hospital under the scheme. Patients diagnosed with end‑stage renal disease receive scheduled dialysis sessions without any user charge. The programme supplies dialysis machines, consumables and qualified nephrology staff, and maintains a centralized booking system to allocate slots based on clinical priority.

1. Dial 108 for general emergencies or 102 for maternal/child referral from any phone to request an ambulance.
2. For dialysis, visit the nearest district hospital and approach the Nephrology/OPD counter.
3. Submit Aadhaar card, residence proof and a medical certificate from a registered physician confirming the need for dialysis.
4. After verification, the hospital schedules free dialysis slots and issues a treatment card.
