Overview

The National Logistics Policy (NLP) 2022, formulated by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), aims to bring India's logistics costs in line with global benchmarks by 2030. It targets a reduction from the current 13-14% of GDP to below 10% through coordinated actions across ministries, states, and industry.

Key Components

• Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) enabling real-time data exchange among over 30 central and state systems.
• Standardization of logistics parks via model layouts, operational guidelines, and performance benchmarks.
• Human Resource Development through certified skill development programs in freight management, warehousing, and multimodal transport.
• Digital monitoring and grievance redressal mechanisms, including the Ease of Logistics portal and a dedicated helpline.

Implementation Approach

The policy follows a collaborative implementation model led by the Logistics Division of DPIIT, with quarterly progress reviews. Central ministries, state governments, industry associations, and private stakeholders contribute to action plans, which are monitored through a centralized dashboard.

1. Visit the ULIP portal at https://ulip.logistics.gov.in/.
2. Click on 'New Registration' and fill the online form with entity details such as name, PAN, GSTIN, and bank information.
3. Upload scanned copies of PAN card, GST registration certificate, and a cancelled cheque or bank statement.
4. Submit the form and receive login credentials via registered email.
5. Log in to access real-time cargo tracking, planning tools, and grievance redressal services.
